The Chittaurgarh Fort
The indomitable pride of Chittaur, the fort is a missive structure with many gateways built by the later Maurya rulers in 7th century A.D. Perched on a height of 180m high hill, it sprawls over 700 acres. The tablets and chhatris within are impressive reminders of the Rajput heroism. The main gates are Padal Pole, Bhairon Pole, Hanuman Pole and Ram Pole. The fort has many magnificent monuments - all fine examples of the Rajput architecture. The ancient ruins of the fort are worth spending few moments in solitude.

Bijolia : Rajasthan
Bijolia (50 km) An ancient fort and the city of Bijolia is situated on the Bundi Chittaurgarh road. A high paved courtyan on the side of the fort has a large temple of Lord Shiva in its centre with a fine image of Lord Ganesha standing as a guardian at the entrance. A carved archway leads to the temple.
Taragarh or The Star Fort

Perched on a thickly wooded hill is a marvelous white fort with a huge reservoir which once supplied water to the palace. Government Museum at Chittaurgarh
Government Museum The magnificent Fateh Prakash Mahal, presently a fine Museum with an exquisite example of sculptures from temples and buildings in the fort is worth a visit. Entry fee Rs. 2.00 Closed on Fridays.
Barmer Fort
Barmer Fort Perched on a rocky hill, the town has ruins of an old fort. Of interest are a temple dedicated to Balark (the sun) and the ancient ruins if Juna Barmer. The three Jain temples an inscription of 1925 A.D. and a massive pillar in the hall of the largest temple of maharaja Kula Sri Samanta Sinha Deva, a ruler of Bahadmera (Now Barmer) are also worth a visit.
Talwas : Bundi
Talwas (53 km) A magnificent fort built by the ruler Ajit Singh. A temple of Dhooleshwar Mahadev and a picturesque waterfall adjoining the fort are worth a visit. The beautiful Ratna Sagar Lake is close by and is a haven for fauna like bear and deer during the monsoon.
